Spicy!

I've been wanting to make some homemade spice mixes for awhile now.  Since today was cold and damp outside, I figured it would be the perfect day for working on some inside things that I've been putting off in favor of soaking up the sunshine!  I had already tried the ranch mix once before and we LOVED every bite of it!  So I mixed up a larger batch of the ranch dressing/dip mix.  And then I found a taco seasoning mix that I wanted to try out.  I made the mix, but have yet to try it out.  It smells tempting, so I'm sure it will be GREAT!  The best part about both of these mixes is that they contain NO PRESERVATIVES!!!  So technically, they go along with our "whole foods" diet that we've been living on for the past few months. Of course, I couldn't just store them in any old tupperware container with a masking tape sticker for a label.  Instead, I found these cute little glass containers at Hobby Lobby that are the perfect size for spice mix...

Thank You Cards...4-H Style

My sister-in-law is very involved with local 4-H groups and needed some thank you notes.  Since I've been at home recovering, I was more than happy to help her out!  Here's how they turned out... Anybody else need some cards while I'm off work!?!  I'd be happy to cut and create for you!  :)

Thank You

I FINALLY made it back to the craft room tonight to stretch my brain a little and create something new and wonderful!  :)  After being laid up for a week after some medical stuff, I have a new appreciation for the health I normally enjoy...and an appreciation for friends and family who took the time to deliver yummy meals, delectable cookies, and beautiful flowers (that came complete with a big hug from my adorable niece)!  Now that the pain is subsiding and my body is healing, I'm thanking the Lord for the way He created our bodies to bounce back so quickly and completely.  And I'm also thanking all the awesome people who made time to take care of me over the last week or so with some special handmade cards! These cards were made possible by the Walk in my Garden cricut cartridge.  I just love all the little flower designs that are included on that cartridge.  There are even lady bugs, butterflies, and caterpillars!!  I can't wait to make a few m...

Happy Easter!

It's been a few weeks since I've made time for blogging.  Lots of things going on these past few weeks and I haven't even made it back to the craft room to create anything fun for Easter!  :(  Between nursing little 1 1/2lb babies back to health, squeezing in yard work as the weather changes, and cooking whole foods every day, I've completely run out of energy for crafting!  I'm hoping to get back into it soon...until then, here's a sneak peek of my latest project.  :) I've made a tradition out of making a scrapbook documenting each of my nieces' and nephews' first years of life.  They're so much fun for me to do!  I better get busy as Cooper will be a year old in just a few months!  :) I mentioned that I've been cooking whole foods lately...I didn't want to just do a "diet" for a few weeks.  Instead, I wanted to make a life change that would last and would benefit me for years to come.  Thus began an adventure!  I clea...

Elmo!

Whenever my sweet nephew, Luke, sees Elmo his face lights up!  So it's only fitting that the theme for his first birthday party is, of course, ELMO!!  Since I am in love with my cricut, I agreed to do the invitations for his party.  Did you know that cricut makes an Elmo cartridge?!?!  I couldn't believe my luck when I jumped on Amazon and found the Elmo Party Cartridge. I ordered it right away and started creating the moment it was delivered to my doorstep.  :)  Happy First Birthday, Luke!!  :)

Dave Ramsey Envelopes

A little over a year ago, I went through Financial Peace University at our church.  One of the main things that this program teaches is to change over your household to a cash-only system.  Out with the credit cards.  In with cold hard cash.  :)  This was quite the opposite of how I had been running my household, but wanting to give the cash-only system a chance, I jumped on board.  I started by using the envelopes that our kit provided.  They got the job done, but they weren't very pretty.  Then, a friend of mine sent me a link to this fabulous website where a creative young lady came up with a way to make the cash-only system a little easier on the eye.  I fell in love with her creations and have been making my own versions of cute Dave Ramsey envelopes ever since.  I got bored with the first set that I made for myself and decided I'd update them a little bit.  I found this ADORABLE paper at Archiver's and got to work.  Her...

See What You Think...

Tonight I was blessed to spend some time with a dear friend.  We made last minute plans to go and see "The Vow" in the theater.  Has anyone else seen that movie?  I'm still deciding if I liked it or not...it held my attention while I was watching it, but now that I'm home and have had time to think back through the whole movie, I'm not sure it's gonna make my top 10 list.  It was good, don't get me wrong!  Just felt like it should've been longer and developed a few more things a little further...and changed the ending.  Watch it.  See what you think.  ;)  I have also been telling everyone I know about a book called, "I Will Carry You" by Angie Smith .  If you know anyone who has ever lost a baby whether it was a month into a pregnancy or 2 years after the baby was born, I would highly suggest this book.  I read it simply because the author is the wife of one of the singers in a Christian group I like called "Selah," and I just th...
